This charming Grade II listed stone built cottage lies in the heart of town, just off the market square, well placed for shops, pubs, and restaurants of Allendale.
Its very spacious interior is the perfect opportunity for family or friends to come together, a characterful place to spend some quality time.
The large farmhouse kitchen boasts stylish units and a grand range cooker, with magnificent log burning stoves occupying both this room, and the lounge.
From morning through to evening, you can truly appreciate the blend of modernised living and tradition, a unique twist to a heart-warming stay.
A cloakroom finishes the ground floor, and a helpful utility is elevated by a sloping ceiling which rests above.
Upstairs, three bedrooms await, the master bedroom features its own en-suite, with two additional rooms offering a comfy haven to relax in as the night approaches.
All are beautifully styled, and well-appointed for the very homely family bathroom which also provides a handheld shower.
Hexham, Newcastle and Durham to the east and Hadrian's Wall just to the north, are certainly worth a visit, as well as the Scottish Borders.
There are lots of walks, cycling opportunities and unspoilt villages in the surrounding North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is an ideal location for exploring the surrounding countryside or travelling further north to the glorious Heritage Coastline.
Allendale is home to the New Year tradition of Tar Bar'ls well worth seeing or visiting in the Autumn.

Hare & Hounds House is a Grade II stone-built cottage situated in the village of Allendale, Northumberland. Hosting three bedrooms; a king-size with en-suite, and another king-size and a twin along with a bathroom, this property can sleep up to six people. Inside you will also find a bathroom, cloakroom, kitchen/diner with log burning stove, utility, and a sitting room with log burning stove. To the outside is roadside parking, and free parking in a public car park. Resting in a pretty location with an abundance of charm, Hare & Hounds House is a wonderful retreat in a charming part of England. This property accepts a minimum of two-night bookings.

Allendale is a lovely village with everything you could want for a short stay. Can recommend the hairdressers.
Endless places to walk in all weathers.
A lot of thought has gone into making this a great holiday house. We would highly recommend.

This is a lovely, spacious cottage which was very comfortable for our short stay. The kitchen is huge, welcoming and well equipped. We spent most of our social time chatting round the table. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The location of the property is great: metres from the centre of Allendale and a very short distance from a lovely walk along the river.

Loved the kitchen but was not able to use the log burner as it was out of use.
Would have spent all my time in kitchen. The livingroom was cold even with the logburner on. Bed comfortable cobwebs on the lamp shades. Everything else was clean. The windows really need replacing problems because listed building
