Tucked away on the outskirts of the picturesque Newtonmore, Scottish Highlands is this well-appointed terraced cottage, The Shieling.
Located within Balvatin Cottages, a complex of 11 apartments round an attractive courtyard garden, this lovely cottage is perfect for a family or group of six wanting to explore the beautiful Cairngorms National Park.
Find off-road parking to unload your luggage and make yourself at home; a homely open-plan living space with thoughtful décor welcomes you to relax after the day's adventures.
Snuggle up on the corner sofa by the warmth of the electric fire and watch the TV, before whipping up a home-cooked dinner in the well-equipped kitchen.
Dine at the table or find a spacious, shared garden with outdoor seating to make the most of your rural surroundings.
Guests also have access to a shared utility in the basement with coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer to wash muddy walking gear.

The living area in the property is an open-plan living space with a kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice box and dishwasher, a dining area, and a sitting area with a TV and electric fire. There is also a communal, on-site laundry room containing a coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside, there is a shared garden with patio and furniture, and off-road parking for two cars. Within 0.1 miles, you will find a shop, and within 0.2, a pub. Please note that this is a pet-free and non-smoking property. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. A travel cot is available on request, however guests must bring their own bedding. The Shieling is an ideal base for a family or group of six's holiday in the Cairngorms National Park. Note: The coin-operated washing machine is operated with new pound coins and a wash costs 4GBP. Note: Guests must provide their own bedding for the travel cot. Note: Property is not suitable for people with mobility issues. Note: A small fuel starter pack is provided. Note: The central heating is operated in the morning and early evening; this can be adjusted to your needs on request.

Beautiful holiday cottage in a lovely area. Very quiet and peaceful. It was lovely playing games round the log burner at night. So cosy. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. There is a garage with a small shop just a 5min walk away and a co-op in the village. Our only complaint was that it wasn’t long enough! Plenty to do and explore in the area. We will hopefully be back.

The accommodation was perfect, the log burner made it so cosy, the furniture was very comfortable and the cottage was really well equipped. The location was superb.
