A well-appointed double fronted mid terrace cottage, located in the centre of the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.
Providing the perfect base for exploring the wild and rugged landscapes and stunning scenery of North Wales, Old Station Cottage is ideal for a couple, friends, or family, keen walkers, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
This lovely 19th century slate workers cottage offers a modern and fresh interior, tastefully furnished, and decorated throughout whilst still retaining character and charm.
Decorated in neutral colours and soft warming greys, the sitting room hosts plush seating and a woodburning stove which creates a homely atmosphere where guests can relax after a busy day walking and exploring.
Discover the intimate dining area, a great spot to relish a feast, served up by the designated chef, and crack open a bottle of bubbly.
Ascend the stairs to uncover three individually styled bedrooms, a double and two singles, as well as a family bathroom where you can indulge a long soak.
To the exterior, make use of the private decked area by basking in the rugged mountainous views on a summer evening.
From your doorstep, discover a range of shops, restaurants, pubs and even a cinema, as well as some fantastic walks with great access to Snowdonia; Blaenau Ffestiniog is also home to a host of adrenaline-fuelled activities at Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Zip World Titan (the largest zip zone in Europe), Zip World Caverns and Bounce Below (deep mine zip wires and the largest underground system of trampolines in the world!). A vast array of mountain bike tracks and trails are peppered across the landscape, or if you’re seeking something a little less energetic, the well-known Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway is guaranteed to be loved by all. A little further afield, why not visit the Italian village and gardens of Portmeirion for an afternoon of escapism.
Ideally placed and providing a great base for a holiday or short break anytime of the year, visit old Station Cottage

Great little cottage, very well placed for visiting numerous attractions in the area. Everything was comfortable and it has the all important (for Wales) washing machine and tumble dryer. We were able to leave our second car parked in the driveway and take advantage of the free 4pm to 10am parking opposite for our other car.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was very comfortable. It was well equipped we found everything we needed except we couldn’t find a tin opener but we managed without one. Unfortunately we found Ffestiniog very quiet with not a lot of things to do especially for children. The weather was miserable which didn’t help. I enjoyed the train trip to Porthmadog.

A cosy little cottage in the perfect area for exploring Wales. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We discovered the Old slate Mine and waterfall at Cwmorthin quarry. We also got to visit amazing castles (Conwy being the currently favourite) plus we managed to fit in a chilly but sunny day on Snowdon. Thank you very much. We loved our stay.
