Located on the third floor of Lews Castle, 'Sutherland' is an enchanting apartment best suited for guests with full mobility, as access requires taking a lift to the first floor followed by a steep staircase leading to the top of the towers. The spacious living area features a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a washing machine, and offers serene views of the surrounding forest, providing a tranquil retreat.
Stepping into the sleeping quarters, two of the large double bedrooms offer harbour views and share a grand family bathroom, with a mirror, sink and single wardrobe in each. The third bedroom, 'Sutherland West' has views of the interior of the castle only, with a large en-suite bathroom with shower and a double wardrobe with coffee-making facilities.
Embracing the Victorian heritage of the grand building, these accommodations incorporate contemporary features that ensure an unforgettable stay. Please note that unfortunately, we can only accept pets in Leverhulme Apartment. Sutherland is not a pet-friendly apartment.
Rooms and apartments are not serviced and amenities not replenished during your stay, unless specifically requested and paid for.
Our properties at Lews Castle have bespoke check-in times, that reflect the unique nature of the site, and how it's operated. Lews Castle welcomes guests to check-in daily between 4pm -9pm. Any arrivals outside of these designated hours will incur a mandatory early or late -arrival fee of £50. This can be pre-booked at the time of making your reservation. If you anticipate an early or late arrival please inform our concierge team during the reservation process or during your pre-arrival call with our operations team.

We were welcomed at the door and shown to our well-appointed apartment. Spectacular views from the Castle across Stornoway harbour, and a very comfortable stay. Management are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Recommend the Castle cafe downstairs for breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
